Meet Our Team
Vicki started Northwind Pet Care Center (formerly known as Northwind Kennels) in 1991. She is involved in several community animal programs. She is an active and avid supporter of Thurston County Animal Services as well as Concern For Animals.
Jodie CKO, Manager
Jodie joined the Northwind staff in October 2002, and her warm and friendly attitude toward animals and people alike has made her an appreciated member of the team ever since. Jodie has her Bachelor of Science with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from The Evergreen State College. She is a Certified Kennel Operator. Jodie became the Manager of Northwind Pet Care Center in June 2004. Her past working experience includes vet hospitals, pet stores, and a doggy daycare facility. She shares her home with 3 horses, 3 dogs, 1 llama, 1 goat, and her husband Brian. In her spare time, Jodie loves to spend time with her animals, horseback ride, and compete in Endurance Riding.
Crystal CAPCT, Assistant Manager
Crystal joined the Northwind staff in August 2004. Her love for animals has made her a wonderful asset to the team. Crystal has many years of experience in the boarding industry. In the future, she plans on pursuing her education in the science field. Crystal became an Assistant Manager in August 2005. She is a certified Advanced Pet Care Technician. Crystal actively shows rabbits and chinchillas and has participated in the 4H rabbit project for over 11 years. In addition to rabbits and chinchillas, she shares her home with dogs, cats, sheep, and horses. When she's not busy with her animals, she enjoys reading, hiking, camping, and fishing.
Alyse CAPCT, Assistant Manager
Alyse joined the Northwind staff in November 2006. She is one of our Assistant Manager's and is a certified Advanced Pet Care Technician. Alyse worked as a Medical Assistant before joining the Northwind staff. She has always loved caring for animals, which is evident through her work here at Northwind. Alyse shares her home with her husband Joe, their daughter Alayna, her chihuahua mix Buckley, and her aussie mix Naya. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and sitting around the campfire.
Tanya CAPCT, Assistant Manager/Personnel Manager
Tanya joined the Northwind Staff in July 2008. She is an Advanced Certified Pet Care Technician. Tanya has a wonderful personality and loves to spoil our guests at Northwind. She grew up in Tenino, WA on her dad's farm where they raised cattle, chickens, and turkeys. Tanya enjoys road trips, camping, traveling, zip-lining, reading, and softball. She lives with her husband and 3 dogs.
Diane NCMG, Master Groomer
Diane joined the Northwind staff in March 2004. She is a National Certified Master Groomer and has 30+ years of experience. Diane has been certified with the National Dog Groomers Association of America since 1992. She started grooming in the seventies in Kay's Poodle Parlor, which was owned by her mother, Kay Salts. Her loving kindness toward animals shows through in the way she takes special care in all the pets she grooms. Diane is very active with her 7 whippets in performance field events and dock diving during her spare time.
Michelle, Pet Manager
Michelle joined the Northwind staff in June of 2011. She is a Certified Pet Care Technician. Her previous experience working in a Veterinarian Clinic in Florida has been very valuable. Michelle enjoys reading, horseback riding, and spending time with her daughter, Kailyn, and her dog, Kenzie.
Nicole, Pet Manager
Nicole joined the Northwind staff in July of 2014, just after she graduated high school. She has always had a love for dogs and cats. She spent much of her life growing up playing basketball, learning how important it is to be a team player, on and off the basketball court. Nicole has a dog named Cooper and a cat named Cheeto. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, crossfit, and taking her dog for walks.
Rachel, Pet Manager
Rachel joined the Northwind staff in October of 2014. She has always had a love for animals and nature and has been lucky enough to have a life filled with both. She spends most of her free time either hiking with her husky, Alo, or volunteering with the wolves at Wolf Haven. She looks forward to continuing her life's work with animals as a future wildlife biologist.
Amira, Pet Manager
Amira joined the Northwind staff in May of 2015. She previously worked at a rabbit rescue in Tenino. She is very caring and loving with all animals. She loves spending time with her family and her dog, Espressa. Amira also loves the outdoors and is always going camping and hiking.
Gretchen, Pet Care Technician
Gretchen joined the Northwind staff in October 2013. She has an Associate of Science degree in Animal Health Care and is a Certified Nursing Assistant. Gretchen mainly works outside cleaning the backs and supervising playtime. She also works in the stable taking care of the horses. She enjoys being outdoors and helps a lot with all the yard work. Gretchen shares her home with her husband, Henry, their two dogs, Keena and Leila, several chickens, 2 turkeys, a rooster and two Japanese Fighter Fish. She enjoys tae kwon do, cycling, hiking, and making quilts.
Jamie joined the Northwind staff in May 2015. She previously had worked with Diane, our groomer, as a bather since April 2014. She is very patient and loving with all animals, big or small. She is currently working as a Pet Care Technician a few days a week, a bather on Sundays, and is also in training with our Master Groomer, Diane, to become a groomer herself. Jamie likes to spend her free time with her 3 cats and has a passion for working on her classic Toyota car.
Kendra, Pet Care Technician
Kendra originally joined the Northwind staff in March 2015 and left in of April 2016. She came back to work at Northwind in September 2016. Kendra grew up in Maple Valley, WA riding/showing horses through high school. She previously worked at Point Defiance Zoo as a Zookeeper. Animals are her passion in life. She likes to hike, camp, read, and hangout with family and friends during her free time. Kendra has 2 cats, 2 frogs, a bearded dragon, and a tortoise.
Sydney, Pet Care Technician
Sydney joined the Northwind staff in October 2016. She was born in Tacoma, Wa but was raised around the Olympia area. Sydney always had animals growing up which is where her passion for animals came from. In her free time she likes to go hiking, camping and riding quads. She has a fish named Norman.
Tanner, Pet Care Technician
Tanner joined the Northwind staff in December 2016. He was born and raised in Olympia. Tanner likes working with dogs because it is always fun and exciting. In his free time he likes bowling, going to concerts, and going to comedy clubs. He has a miniature schnauzer named Dewey.
Kathryn, Pet Care Technician
Kat joined the Northwind staff in December 2016. Her love for animals came from being around them her whole life. She has horses, cats, dogs, goats, birds, and a turtle. In her spare time she works on projects on the farm, likes to go hiking, horseback riding, sewing, and cooking.
Morgan, Pet Care Technician
Morgan joined the Northwind staff in February 2017. She grew up in the Puyallup/Tacoma area. Morgan has worked with animals since she started high school so all of her job experience is working with pets. She has 2 kids and a pit bull that takes up her time outside of work.
Shailie, Pet Care Technician/Groomer in Training
Shailie joined the Northwind staff in March 2017. She has always had a passion for working with animals. She has two dogs, Nox & Prim. In her free time she loves to hike, travel, and spend time with her pups.
Elizabeth, Pet Care Technician
Elizabeth joined the Northwind staff in April 2017. She was born in northern California but was raised in more than 30 cities throughout 4 states. Her whole life she grew up taking care of animals that had been abused or neglected. When she moved to Washington she knew she wanted to continue working with animals. At Northwind she tries to connect with every animal that she works with to help them feel comfortable and make them happy. She likes spending her free time with her animals, hiking, and doing photography.
